Arne Krokan is a Norwegian professor in «Teknologi, kommunikasjon, organisasjon og ledelse» at NTNU, and is heavily involved in the IT focus at the institution.
He has been working on the project «Smart learning» since 2013. Its goal is to aid the digitalisation of learning at NTNU and the education sector in general. Fall 2013 he opened Norway’s first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). One of the subjects he was lecturing in «Teknologiendring og samfunnsutvikling», was offered purely as an online course. Krokan decided to use the opportunity to take the subject to the next level. Close to a thousand students followed the course during spring 2014.
